I. An Immigration Hold put on an undocumented person:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement checks the jail log on a regular basis. If an undocumented person or a person with expired status has been taken into custody ICE will place an Immigration hold on the person. This means that once the criminal matter for which you were detained is disposed of you will be transfered from state custody to the custody of ICE.
II. An Immigration Hold put on a person as a result of a criminal record or charge:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement also checks the jail log regularly for inmates who are not United States citizens. If you are not a US citizen and you have been arrested or have a criminal record for which you may be deported or inadmissable ICE will put a hold on you.
III. ICE will place a hold on you if there is a prior deportation order against you.
